When to Service Your Mazda

Keeping up with your Mazda’s routine maintenance is one of the easiest ways to ensure its continued prime operation. While your service technician will know exactly how to service your particular Mazda model, here are some general guidelines that you can ask about next time you see us:

Every 6 months or 7,500 miles, replace the engine oil and filter; lubricate all locks and hinges; rotate the tires

Every 12 months or 15,000 miles, perform 7,500-mile service plus have the disc brakes inspected

Every 24 months or 30,000 miles, perform 15,000-mile service plus:

• inspect fuel lines and hoses
• inspect brake lines, hoses, and connections
• inspect steering operation and linkages
• inspect front and rear suspension, ball joints, and wheel bearing axial play
• inspect drive shaft dust boots
• tighten bolts and nuts on chassis and body

Every 30 months or 37,500 miles, perform 7,500-mile service plus inspect the drive belts

Every 48 months or 60,000 miles, repeat 30,000-mile service

75,000 miles, audibly inspect the engine valve clearance; replace spark plugs

You’ll also want to be sure that the engine coolant is replaced at 120,000 miles or 10 years of life, and every 60,000 miles or 5 years afterward. You’ll also want to inspect the exhaust system and heat shields every 45,000 miles or five years, and replace the cabin air filter every 25,000 miles or 2 years.
